IT Apprentice - St Catherine's College
We have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Apprentice to join us. St Catherine’s College will be your place of work and the education side of your apprenticeship will be delivered by Heathercroft Training.
The successful candidate will be IT literate, have a keen interest in IT and must be able to work as part of a busy support team. You will work closely with other departments and will need to build relationships with both internal and external customers. You will be self-motivated, efficient, and well organised and have a keen eye for detail.
Specific duties will include:
- Looking after the IT ticket system and responding to all queries and tickets raised within the set timescale.
- Responding to emails and answering the phone.
- Carrying out configuration and testing of new kit prior to install.
- Assisting in providing IT support to a local primary school and our Academy Trust.
- Providing an excellent customer service focus when dealing with pupils and staff.
The apprenticeship will be made up of practical employment experience whilst having an education programme that will lead to a nationally recognised qualification. You will learn to work in a school environment supporting both pupils and staff.
Apprentice training will be provided locally by Heathercroft Training Academy.
Apprentices will be expected to study for approximately 6 to 7 hours per week.
The salary for this apprenticeship assumes that apprentices will be aged under 19 or aged over 19 but in their first year of apprenticeship.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.

All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau).
