Budget Monitoring for ESCC Budget Managers
|
This course is available to all people with a role managing service budgets or capital projects. The course will cover the ESCC budget monitoring process and will demonstrate the different ways to forecast expenditure and income.
|
The aim of the course is to contribute to sound financial management across the organisation, giving East Sussex County Council staff an understanding of the key principles of budget monitoring, and the necessary skills to forecast against budget effectively.
|
To understand the reasons why budget management is important. To be able to forecast annual expenditure and income and to be able to explain variances to the budget with meaningful commentary.
|
This interactive course will use revenue budget management techniques although in most cases these techniques are also relevant for monitoring capital projects.

While focused on managing the interactions between attendees in person, it will also cover some of the different challenges we face with online meetings, where all of the attendees are on a screen, and hybrid scenarios that combine both approaches.
