Education Plans

Excellence for All 2017 to 2019
Excellence for All sets out how the Council will work with our partners to achieve our ambitions of creating a local education system that prepares all of our children and young people to play an active role in the society of the future.

Education Commissioning Plan 2015 to 2019
The Council has a statutory duty to ensure there is sufficient capacity to meet current and future demand for early years, primary, secondary and special school places. The Education Commissioning Plan sets out how the Council will meet its statutory duty working in partnership with key stakeholders including early years settings, schools, academies, parents and carers, dioceses, borough and district councils and local communities.

Establishment of a new SEMH School in East Sussex
The Council has identified the need for a new special school to provide for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school would provide 80 places across the primary and secondary phases and would be located in the Eastbourne/Hailsham area. The new school would be established under the Free School Presumption, and the Council will be inviting applications from interested proposers early in 2018. The specification and application will be available on this webpage and via a link on the DfE website.
