Establishment of a new SEMH School in East Sussex

Applications are being sought under the free school presumption for a new special school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

East Sussex County Council has identified the need for a new special school for pupils with SEMH needs. The school would provide 80 places across the primary and secondary phases and be located on land identified within a Section 106 agreement off Reef Way in Hailsham (BN27 1FB). The new school is to be established under the free school presumption and applications are welcomed from interested sponsors.

The new school specification, application form and criteria are available below.
The closing date for applications is noon on 14 March 2018.

Following the Council’s assessment of the applications, the Regional Schools Commissioner, on behalf of the Secretary of State, will decide which proposer is in the best position to establish the new school.

Update 30 January 2018: Please note that an updated specification is now available. Please ensure you use the most recent version of the document.
