Education Commissioning Plan

The Education Commissioning Plan for the period 2015 to 2019 sets out how East Sussex County Council, as a strategic commissioner of education, seeks to meet the challenge of ensuring there are sufficient education places for all children from two to 19 years of age. The plan is produced by the Standards and Learning Effectiveness Service in the Children’s Services Department and was approved for publication by the Lead Member for Learning and School Effectiveness on 21 December 2015.

The Council has a statutory duty to ensure there are sufficient, high quality education places in the county to meet present and future demand across all phases of education. This document contains information on:

  • The current pattern of Early Years, primary and secondary school and post-16 provision across the county
  • Forecasts of Early Years, primary, secondary and post-16 numbers in future years by borough or district
  • The Council’s policy for school organisation in the county]
