Apply to become a local authority governor
Each local authority (LA) maintained school has one LA Governor, nominated by the local authority.
The LA panel considers applications regularly. They look for skills, experience, and ability to contribute.
Applications are assessed against the following documents:

First-time applicants
Apply with the Authority Governor application form.
Re-appointments
LA governors who have completed their term of office and want to re-apply or applicants with substantial governor experience should use the Authority Governor re-application form. They must provide evidence of the previous:
- attendance at meetings
- proactive approach to development opportunities
- involvement in the work of the governing board
