Radicalisation

Radicalisation is when someone tries to make another person believe in very extreme ideas or pushes them to support bad things like terrorism.

How we can help

If you're worried that someone you know might be thinking in dangerous ways or being pushed towards radicalisation, you can ask for help. Some people and programmes can offer support, and this can help everyone stay safe.

One of these programmes is called 'Channel'. If someone is offered help from Channel, they can say yes or no. Taking part won’t show up on a criminal record.

To get help, you can email us below.

Channel is made up of people from different groups working together. This teamwork is part of a larger plan called 'Prevent'. If you want to know more, visit: Prevent | GOV.UK

Terrorism

If you think someone is planning to do something dangerous or related to terrorism, you can call:

  • Sussex Police Prevent advice line: 0800 011 3764

If you think there is an emergency, call 999.
