Our response to Subject Access Requests (SARs) may take longer for us to complete at the moment because we need to focus on COVID-19. We need to prioritise essential services to ensure the wellbeing of our residents and you may experience a delay in your response.

While your statutory right of access remains unchanged, our resources may be diverted away from usual compliance or information rights work at this time. We will keep you informed and will respond as soon as resources allow.

Use the Subject Access Request (SAR) form below if you want to access any personal information that the Council holds for you or someone that you are responsible for. The form below helps us locate the information, but they are not compulsory, and there are alternative instructions below for getting in contact. Please note that if the information you want to access relates to an adoption that has taken place you will need to contact the Adoptions Team directly in order to access this. Access to Adoption Records does not fall within the Data Protection Act 2018.

Please fill in the web form below and upload the following documents:

  • The SAR pdf or Microsoft Word document
  • Two pieces of identification to prove who you are. Photocopies of original documents are acceptable.
  • Proof of entitlement to make the request. This is only if you are making the request for information about someone other than yourself (please see guidance notes on the SAR form).

Once we have received your request and the required identification, we aim to respond to you within one month. Complex Requests may take longer and we will let you know within one month if this is the case. Some information may be withheld, and the reasons will be explained to you.
