Equality Scheme and annual report

Our equalities objectives show how we will:

  • eliminate unlawful discrimination
  • promote equality of opportunity, and
  • promote good community relations.

Our equality objectives are published in departmental Portfolio Plans and the Council Plan. Our progress is reported in our Annual Report.

Equality monitoring

To comply with the specific duties of the Equality Act 2010, we produce an annual equality statistical report that you can download below. It includes statistical information on our workforce including recruitment, promotions and staff turnover. The information is available on our East Sussex in Figures website.

Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs)

Council departments carry out equality monitoring reviews and impact assessments to make sure that where possible, policies and services do not disadvantage any one part of the community more than the rest.
