About the Support with Confidence scheme

Support with Confidence provides a directory of vetted and approved providers which offer a wide range of care and support services for adults in East Sussex. Services include support with:

  • personal care
  • meals
  • gardening and home improvement
  • transport

The scheme ensures all members are committed to the highest level of quality, safety and training. All providers are subject to background checks including references, enhanced DBS and insurance.

Following acceptance to the scheme, service providers are monitored to ensure continued quality.

How does Support with Confidence accreditation differ to Care Quality Commission regulation?

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) monitor, inspect and regulate care services in the UK to ensure they meet the required standards of quality and safety. CQC-regulated services include a variety of providers such as home care agencies, care homes, hospitals etc. Personal assistants working alone are not regulated by the CQC.

Support with Confidence is a locally-run accreditation scheme for providers in East Sussex. Membership is open to all providers, regardless of whether they are registered with the CQC. Many CQC-registered providers in East Sussex have also joined the scheme to show that they also meet local accreditation standards.
