Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for unpaid carers

If you are an unpaid carer, you can apply for free personal protective equipment to be used in your caring role through the government’s PPE portal.

This includes:

  • surgical masks
  • disposable aprons and gloves
  • hand hygiene products

Who is eligible?

To apply, you must provide essential unpaid care to a family member or friend.

Unpaid care includes delivering personal care and help with chores, such as cooking, shopping, cleaning and laundry.

How to register

To register, you will need to fill in a short form.

If you are caring for someone who lives in your household, select ‘Live in unpaid carer’.

If you are caring for someone who lives in a different household, select ‘Extra resident unpaid carer’.

Orders should be placed once every 4 weeks.
