A27 Lewes - Polegate

1. Smaller scale interventions

Highways England announced a package of small scale improvements to the A27 between Lewes and Polegate in September 2017. These improvements comprise:

• capacity improvements at the A22/A2270 signalised junction and two lanes both ways between the signals and Cophall roundabout,
• capacity improvements at Berwick roundabout and
• safety improvements at Wilmington.

Construction started in spring 2020, and is expected to be completed by spring 2022.
