Smaller scale interventions
Highways England announced a package of small scale improvements to the A27 between Lewes and Polegate in September 2017. These improvements comprise:
- capacity improvements at the A22/A2270 signalised junction and 2 lanes both ways between the signals and Cophall roundabout
- capacity improvements at Berwick roundabout
- safety improvements at Wilmington
Construction started in spring 2020, and is expected to be completed by spring 2022
