Bus service changes
Lewes bus station and where to catch your bus
Lewes Bus Station current status
The County Council was served with 28 days' notice to vacate by the owners of Lewes Bus Station, the Generator Group. We have remained engaged with them throughout seeking continued use of the bus station. Sadly, they remained insistent on taking vacant possession on 16 September 2022 resulting in alternative bus stop provision at very short notice to ensure town centre bus services could continue to serve passenger’s needs.
We are currently exploring ways to improve the current situation along School Hill, which includes the widening of the pavement, the provision of bus shelters and real time information provision.
We are also continuing discussions with the Generator Group to allow us to use the bus station, as well as exploring the medium to long term provision of bus stops in Lewes town centre.
Information about the current stops is below.
