Following the UK government’s decision to ask public venues to shut, we have decided to close all East Sussex County Council libraries from Monday 23 March until further notice.

All library loans will be extended until at least 30 June. We have waived overdue fees for items that were due to be returned after 9 March 2020 until further notice.

Our online library will operate as normal and we have increased the number of items available. Our eLibrary includes not just books but also audiobooks, magazines and reference material.

We look forward to welcoming customers back when the situation eases.

Members of East Sussex libraries can download and listen to audiobooks instantly from our partner, RBDigital.
