Books and gifts

At Bookends bookshop and pop-ups you can buy:

  • ex-library books, DVDs and CDs
  • greetings cards
  • stationery and stamps
  • local history photos and other gifts

At your local library you can buy jute bags, stamps, greetings cards, 4GB memory stick and magnifier bookmarks and sheets. See our library fees.

Photos

You can buy printed or electronic copies of our local history photos for private use. Send us your contact details and the number and title of the photo you want. After we confirm your order, we’ll ask you to pay by cheque.

  • £3 for images sent by email
  • £3 for images printed on ordinary paper
  • £5 for images printed on photographic paper

Please contact us if you want to use our photos in a book, poster or other publication.

Donations

We accept donated books, audiobooks, music and DVDs – please take them to your local library and ask for the library manager. Donated items must be:

  • in good condition – not faded, yellowing, marked inside, with weak spines or loose or missing pages
  • reasonably current, especially non-fiction
  • have a good standard of content and publisher – authoritative, popular subjects
  • able to be used as we like – they may be offered to other libraries, sold, or disposed of another way.

We’ll also consider local history photographs, postcards, illustrations and DVDs – please address these to the Librarian Team and your local library will pass on.

We can’t accept any non-rental DVDs for loan as this breaks copyright and industry contracts.
