What to expect at the library

Please feel free to come in, sit down, read a book, use a computer, research your family history and relax.  We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the libraries.

When you visit you will see a number of changes to our layouts and procedures to make sure you can use the libraries safely and move around them easily. As well as changing the layout we have increased cleaning and installed screens at the counters. We recommend that visitors to our public buildings continue to wear face masks for the time being.

There will no longer be a limit to the number of customers in each library at any one-time however we are encouraging any visitors to stay a safe distance from each other. Please consider booking computers to avoid disappointment. You can also now book study spaces in most of our libraries.

If you have any questions regarding the reopening of libraries or services please contact us online, speak to staff in the library or call 0345 60 80 196.
