The Rocket kids with their dog

When: Saturday 13 July to Saturday 14 September 2019
What: borrow 6 or more books from East Sussex libraries

The summer holidays see the launch of the Summer Reading Challenge – the free reading event for children aged 4 to 11.

This year your child will be a little astronaut taking part in a Space Chase. Can they help our space family, The Rockets, track down books nabbed by mischievous aliens?

Astronauts read 6 library books of their choice, solving clues and collecting special stickers and other rewards along the way. They can read anything they like, from joke books to fact books, printed books to audio books. The only rule is that they must be borrowed from the library. Everyone who finishes the Challenge gets a medal and a certificate.

Click the Space chase blast off button to start the adventure.
