Common problems

1. Overgrown path

The County Council is responsible for clearing any vegetation growing from the surface of the path, whilst landowners are responsible for cutting back vegetation growing from the side. We carry out clearance work during the growing season (usually between March and October), covering about 50 miles of the network. If you find a path is overgrown please contact the Rights of Way Team and if possible let us know whether it is surface or adjacent vegetation, or both, so that we can contact the landowner if necessary.
