Are you a highly organised, friendly, and detail-orientated professional looking for a rewarding role in a dynamic school environment? 

Buxted CE Primary School are looking for a school secretary to be the heart of our front office, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and providing essential support to children, staff and parents.  You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, engaging professionally and positively within your role. 

You’ll be the kind of person who is efficient, happy to take the initiative, calm under pressure, good at meeting tight deadlines and enjoys the buzz of a busy office. 

You’ll need to be computer literate with competent typing skills and office administration experience. Ideally, we’re looking for someone with previous school office experience and knowledge of Arbor, but full training will be given.

Basic hours for this permanent position will be for 37 hours per week - 8.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday (with a half hour lunch), term-time only (& 5 INSET days).

Working pattern: Full-time, Term-time only (working for 40 weeks per year plus 6.20 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
(As the position is term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.  

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.  

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
