East Sussex is a fantastic place to live and work, with its rolling hills and countryside green walks to small coastal towns which have had a recent revival. We are looking for an exceptional Social Workers to come to work with our Adult Social Care -Neighbourhood Support Team
The Neighbourhood Support Team are community based and this post offers the opportunity to work in partnership with adults, their families and carers, undertaking Care Act (2014) compliant assessments, to enable them to identify the support and outcomes which they would like to achieve. To carry out the role you will need a detailed knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005), the Mental Health Act (1983), Equalities legislation and the Deprivation of Liberty safeguards and be able to implement this legislation in your daily practice.
You will also be expected to carry out the County’s section (42) Safeguarding duties to protect and mitigate risks to the clients we serve.
Experience of Court of Protection work would be an advantage in this role; however training is offered to successful candidates.
In return for your excellent skills and expertise, East Sussex County Council offers extensive training and career development; you will be supported by monthly individual supervision where you can develop your continuous professional development (CPD) via monitoring your work against the Professional Capability Framework and Knowledge and Skills Statement aligned with your level of experience. You will have the opportunity to engage in monthly reflective supervision with your peers to add towards your registration requirements.
You will need to be a Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and will have obtained a social work qualification, either a, C.Q.S.W, Dip SW, a degree or Master’s in social work. Social Workers holding Assessed and Support Year Employment qualifications are encouraged to apply.
A commitment to your own professional development is also required and in return good support and encouragement is always available.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
