We are seeking an enthusiastic Science Technician to join our thriving Science
Department and friendly technician team.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● To be responsible for maintaining the general safety and cleanliness of
laboratories, preparation areas and science stores.
● To keep up to date with current health and safety recommendations.
● To prepare and deliver lesson materials, including assembling equipment,
preparation of solutions and the making of simple apparatus.
● To clear materials after use including restocking of solutions, cleaning glassware
and disposing of any waste according to guidelines.
● To undertake basic maintenance and simple repairs to equipment.
● To work efficiently to ensure practical requests are met and any operational
guidelines or safety information is given to teachers when necessary.
● To undertake training to update knowledge and skills as required.
● Working with teachers and the technician team to develop/trial new practical
activities.
Training will be provided, but experience of working in a laboratory environment and a
Science qualification, would be an advantage.
