Are you looking for a new challenge that gives you real job satisfaction doing something that will make a real difference to someone’s life?

Grangemead is a countywide respite and emergency service for adults with learning disabilities in Hailsham, which was refurbished to a high standard offering a hotel-style service. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities. We have interactive sensory equipment and the latest in assistive technology to enhance the experience of guests staying with us.

The service provides a fun holiday experience for long and short respite stays where we promote life skills, independence, community presence and opportunities to meet new friends.

The emergency service provides accommodation to individuals who are experiencing a difficult time in their lives e.g., safeguarding, homeless, illness, death, or end of placement with carers.

Support Workers work in teams alongside the Senior Support Workers and are there to support guests to ensure they are safe, and their wellbeing is looked after. For example: giving medication, involving guests in fun activities, making drinks and snacks if required completing personal care, working with vulnerable adults who can display behaviours that challenge.

This role also includes performing security checks and cleaning roles to uphold Grangemead’s high standard of cleanliness, ensuring the building is safe for guests.

Your core values are what interests us about you the most. We support you to learn the necessary skills as you will receive excellent training opportunities, a thorough induction and supervision as part of our commitment to you.
