We are looking for a Support Worker for our Respite Service in Bexhill. Greenwood has 14-ensuite bedrooms and offers short term breaks with a range of activities both within the building and grounds and out in the community.
At times it can be challenging, but supporting someone with a learning disability is an amazing job. You will watch them as they grow which is incredible to watch and to be the person that supports them to do that is remarkable.
This rewarding role will involve supporting guests both emotionally and physically in their daily lives and at times when they may be distressed or display behaviours that challenge. No two days are the same.
Waking Night Support Workers are there to support guests overnight to ensure they are safe and their wellbeing is looked after giving medication, performing night checks, making drinks and snacks if required. The role also includes performing security checks and cleaning roles to uphold high standard of cleanliness ensuring the building is safe for guests.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Care or other similar relevant qualification, or are willing to work towards a Care Certificate.
- Will provide practical assistance for example in relation to personal tasks
- Will give personal and emotional support to promote clients’ health and well being, keeping people safe from harm and protecting their possessions.
- Will enable people to lead full lives by providing support and assistance in leisure activities, both within services and in the local area.
- Will encourage people to provide feedback about the support they receive to help services to improve.
