We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational teacher to lead our SEND Facility area. The Da Vinci Centre is a specialist educational facility based within the wider setting of our school.  The centre offers a personalised pathway through learning for young people with special educational needs including Autism Spectrum Condition, anxiety and dyslexia. The centre offers up to twelve places places for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans ranging in age from 11 to 16.  The young people spend part of their school day, according to need, in mainstream lessons.

Working as part of the dedicated school SEND team, ensuring our fantastic young people enjoy best possible outcomes and have a great learning experience, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the SENDCo to ensure our learning and support plans meet the specific needs of each student within the Facility.
  • Co-ordinating and overseeing the programme of learning for young people within the Facility.
  • Delivering targeted interventions to children within the Facility.
  • Liaising with classroom teachers to ensure the young people make the best possible progress.
  • Supporting young people to make good choices, effectively de-escalating conflict or challenge.
  • Being the daily point of call for all Facility students’ parents and external professionals.
  • Managing the the safe and effective day to day running of the Facility.
  • Line managing staff within the Facility.

The post holder will be entitled to a SEN allowance, the value of which will be confirmed.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
