Hours of work: 28.25 hours per week TA, plus 5 hours MDSA
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata
Fixed term: until July 2025

Buxted C of E Primary is looking for an enthusiastic full time Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team. This person could be a TA2 or a TA3. Buxted is a thriving rural primary school with a committed, friendly staff. We have motivated, happy children who are rewarding to work with and their families are very supportive.
The role will be classroom based in our junior team. However, you will also be supporting children in other year groups throughout the school. The role also includes a Thursday and Friday shift supporting our wraparound team leader in our thriving afterschool club.
We need someone who:
- Enjoys working with children and has a genuine belief that all children have the potential to succeed
- Enjoys working with the junior children in primary school
- Is compassionate and caring, patient and intuitive with a good sense of fun
- Is adaptable, with excellent organisational and communication skills
- Is able to run small group activities
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Is able to work Thursday and Friday until 5:30pm in our afterschool club
- If they are a TA3, is confident to cover PPA sessions each week supported by another staff member
Experience as a Teaching Assistant or of working with children is preferred, but showing a willingness to learn on the job and develop your knowledge and skills will be viewed very positively.
If the successful candidate is a TA3 the role would then include one or two afternoons leading PPA cover supported by another TA.
The role is for 28.25 hours per week:
Monday - Tuesday 8:30 -12:00 and 1:30 – 3:30
Wednesday 8:30 -12:00
Thursday – Friday 8:30 -12:00 and 1:30 - 5:30
With an additional 5 hours as a midday supervisor. There may be the option for some additional hours at our afterschool club on a claim basis.
Salary will be paid pro-rata: TA2 £22,737 or TA3 £23,500
