This full-time Senior Practitioner post is based in the Adult Social Care, Conquest Hospital Team, based in Hastings. 

The Senior Practitioner position is a really important role in our structure. You will hold a small and complex caseload of clients that may involve safeguarding, court work etc. In addition to this you will supervise a small number of practitioner staff.

You will support the Practice Manager by bringing your experience and knowledge to the team to raise standards and sharing models and social work theory to support staff and benefit the people we serve as part of our critical front-line service. You will have opportunities to facilitate reflective practice sessions and sharing your learning within the service and more widely.

In your role there will be an expectation that you will be part of the decision making for safeguarding triage and supporting staff to set clear terms of reference for enquiries. You will be expected to participate and rota in for safeguarding in your working week. Should you have training needs around safeguarding work, a development plan will be devised to support you to grow your confidence in decision making.

You will need to be an experienced registered Social Worker and ideally, hold a Practice Educator qualification to support Newly Qualified Social Workers in their first year of social work practice as part of their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment Programme (ASYE).

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
