Can you help us provide a safe and hygienic food service for our workers and young children at Lansdowne? This is the job for you if you want to make a difference in the lives of young children, have a flexible mindset, and the capacity to act on your own initiative.

The role will include assisting the preparation, cooking and serving of hot and cold meals and undertaking cleaning of the kitchen and dining area in accordance with agreed schedules/rotas.

Duties will include:

  • Basic food preparation and service
  • Catering for dietary requirements
  • Completing temperature records
  • Stock rotation
  • General cleaning duties
  • Maintaining health and safety records
  • Serving young children and staff
  • Cleaning counters and equipment
  • Setting tables, stowing away deliveries
  • General washing up, cleaning, and emptying bins

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of food hygiene, with communication skills and the ability to work as part of an efficient team. Previous catering experience and food hygiene certificate an advantage. Uniform and training will be provided. This position is for 18.5 hours per week with the possibility of overtime to cover staff absences.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
