Hours of work: 20 hours per week
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 43 weeks per year plus 6.67 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.

Following the retirement of our current postholder, we are looking for a new Caretaker to look after us at our lovely school and nursery. This post involves opening up in the mornings, ensuring the school is clean, safe and looking it's best for our children and staff, alongside our school cleaner and locking up at the end of the day. We can offer a wonderful school community and staff team here at Icklesham CEP School and Nursery.

The successful candidate will be a committed, reliable, adaptable person who is friendly and can work well with staff and children, have good DIY skills and share our pride in our school. They will demonstrate an understanding of health and safety requirements and the ability to undertake cleaning, routine maintenance, basic repairs and DIY tasks, as well as pool caretaking for our outdoor pool. We offer full training, support and development opportunities. The pay grade allocated to this role is from Single Status Grade 4 Point 9 £23,114 fte to Single Status Grade 6 Point 16 £25,545 fte and will be dependent upon additional responsibilities and duties undertaken.

Hours of work are 20 hours per week, hours may include split shifts, split between weekday mornings and evenings: 7am - 9am and 4pm - 6pm in school term time, however there may be some flexibility with these hours. We require an additional 20 days (80 hours) to be worked during the school holidays for routine maintenance and deep cleaning. The specific days are agreed annually and in advance to meet the needs of the school. Some flexibility may be required to cover holiday opening and occasional evening and on rare occasions, weekend events.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
