We are currently recruiting for a Caretaker Level 3 to join our wonderful school community here at Bodiam CEP School.
The role is permanent and the hours are 10 per week - Single Status Grade 4. The successful candidate will be a committed, reliable, adaptable person who is friendly and can work well with staff and children, has good DIY skills and will share our pride in our school. They will have an understanding of health and safety requirements in order to undertake regular recorded checks (such as Fire Alarm, Legionella, Ladder Equipment, weekly site check etc) and the ability to undertake routine maintenance, basic repairs, decorating and DIY tasks. They must be able to work at height on occasion (training provided).
We are looking for someone who will be proactive and maintain our site in good condition for the safety of our pupils, parents and staff.
The Caretaker may also be required to attend out of hours emergencies.
We can offer a friendly, hardworking and supportive school team and welcoming school community as well as training, support and development opportunities. Our building has been extended and refurbished over the past decade and is in good condition. The school also has a good range of maintenance equipment and tools in place to support the work of the Caretaker.
The working times and days are open to negotiation but by the nature of the post, some of the working time would need to be outside of core hours when the pupils are off the site.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.
