Support Worker for One Person

If you would like to go to work everyday knowing that you have made an impact on one young man's life, then this could be the job for you!

We are looking for a bright, caring and dynamic person to join our team. You will have to be the right person to support this young man as his team is kept deliberately small so that everyone gets to know him really well. As such, this is a rare opportunity to be part of a small team which is dedicated to giving this young man a good life.

This unique support service has been created around the individual support needs of a young man who is autistic, has a severe learning disability, epilepsy and behaviours which can be described as challenging.

The young man lives at home with his family and your role is to give him daily opportunities to explore his community whilst his parents are at work. Due to the nature of his support needs, you will always work alongside another member of staff who already knows this young man well. You will have full use of the family home, access to his own car and a daily budget which you will use to develop his independent living skills and socially appropriate behaviours.

You must be a driver and have a full UK driving license.

As a Support Worker in our team, we will offer you:

  • Full or part-time hours
  • Good rate of pay; starting at £12.00 per hour
  • Sociable working hours which are mainly Monday to Saturday; 8am to 6pm with some evenings and occasional weekends
  • Variable hours
  • A thorough induction programme which is supported by our Team Leader
  • Access to training which will enhance your own skill set and career
  • Initial training in Positive Behaviour Support followed by an opportunity to study at level 4
  • Regular supervision and support by our Team Leader
  • Access to a pension scheme
  • Good holidays
  • A genuine opportunity to change someone's quality of life

We are an inclusive employer and embrace neurodiversity.

If you would like to discuss any adjustments to the application process or any aspect of the role, please call the Service Manager on 07813978182.

Before you apply, please email teamleaderlilyj@gmail.com or phone 0781 3978 182 to check that this is the right job for you.
