Learning Support Assistant – Literacy Intervention – required to start ASAP
Hours: 25 hours per week - Term Time Only – 39 working weeks per year
Salary: Single Status Grade 3 point 7 - £20,812 pro rata
We are seeking to appoint a confident, caring and dynamic Learning Support Assistant. The successful candidate will work within the college’s Learning Resource Centre team and alongside our HUB teams to deliver small group and one to one reading intervention for students with low reading ages.
The successful applicant will be able to;
- Establish positive professional relationships with students, acting as a role model and help them to develop their skills in reading.
- Promote a love of reading and demonstrate what good reading ‘looks like’.
- Work with the Learning Resource Centre team to deliver purposeful reading interventions.
- Use reading assessment data (STAR Reading and Accelerated Reader assessments) to target specific strategies to improve students’ reading.
- When appropriate, to support the use of ICT in reading activities and develop students’ competence and independence.
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to: child protection and wellbeing; health, safety and security; confidentiality and data protection.
