We are currently looking to recruit at Chef for our Respite Service for people with Learning Disabilities.  We are looking for someone who is interested in people, who wants to make a difference to change someone's world and who can support those who need help to live their best life.

Greenwood is a countywide respite service for adults with Learning Disabilities in Bexhill which was refurbished to a high standard offering a hotel style service. All 14 bedrooms have en-suite facilities. We have interactive sensory equipment and the latest in assistive technology to enhance the experience of guests staying with us.

We offer short term breaks with a range of activities both within the building and grounds and out in the community.  The service provides a fun holiday experience during guests respite stays and opportunities to meet new friends.

In this role you will be required to follow Summer and Winter menus and adhere to cleaning regimes to an excellent standard to maintain our 5 Star food hygiene rating.

This role will include the following: Ordering, preparation, cooking, deep cleaning, stock take, stock rotation, completion of paperwork and adhering to systems in place, adjusting menus, liaising with fellow cook, staff and management team, communicating with guests.

Coronavirus has been a key learning experience for all services. Chefs would need to have a positive and flexible attitude to working in Adult Social Care. All staff would be required to work across Learning Disability Services when required.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Level 2 Cooking or Chef qualification or willingness to complete Senior Chef Production Cooking or Chef de Partie (Level 3) apprenticeship which will be funded by the Council.
