The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

Battle and Langton CE Primary School is looking to recruit a Lead teacher for our Specialist Nurture Pod to start as soon as possible.

You'll work across the Primary age range, with children who have a variety of complex needs.  You'll be working with an existing team of five support staff in a small class with children that display challenging behaviour, and often have cognitive needs. You will be responsible for ensuring the children get a high-quality rounded education, tailored to their individual needs, as well as supporting the nurture provision and managing their transition back to mainstream classes.

We are looking for a dedicated professional with a passion for inclusion who doesn't give up on children.  We want someone who is understanding, nurturing and can take account of children’s needs and stage of development.   We need someone willing to lead a group of staff and act as a SEND expert; able to give advice to other teachers about including children in mainstream classes, in both our school and neighbouring schools.  We need someone flexible, adaptable and able to work with and support parents.

You will either already have, or be willing to undertake:

  • National Award of SEN Coordination and/or
  • Theory and Practice of Nurture groups qualification

We can offer the successful candidate:

●     A dedicated classroom area with outside space.

●     A supportive team of leaders and governors who have teacher wellbeing as a priority

●     A working environment where kindness and love is mixed with passion and energy

●     A school that promotes professional development

  •  The opportunity to work in an East Sussex funded project to support children across the local community.

Battle and Langton CE Primary School achieved the rating of 'Good' in our recent Ofsted inspection in June 2019, and is well-known for its passion for inclusion.

You are encouraged to visit the POD before you apply.
