​LearningDisability

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning Disability Commissioning Team in East Sussex as Strategic Commissioning Manager. If you are passionate about enabling people with a learning disability to receive high quality, inclusive support, then this could be the role for you.

The role engages with providers and in partnership develops services in residential care, supported living and day opportunities, working towards achieving key targets related to settled accommodation and supported employment. This collaboration with independent sector providers when striving to improve outcomes, celebrate success and sharing examples of good practice across the sector is central to this role.

You will analyse service need, provide strategic direction and play an active part within the Learning Disability and Autism Programme alongside Health partners for service developments for people who require very high levels of care and support.

You will be part of a small and dynamic team who are passionate about the principals of co-production and inclusivity, working closely with the Involvement Matters Team when undertaking commissioning, recruitment and policy development tasks. You will be provided with support, supervision and targeted training to further promote your development.

The role offers opportunities to collaborate with key stakeholders as well as the opportunity to engage with people who use services or have lived experience who shape key areas of development. 

Previous experience of supporting specialist services and/or people with a learning disability is required. You will need to be an excellent communicator, verbally and in writing, understand the diverse needs of people with a learning disability and recognise how effective care and support services can enrich and improve the lives and outcomes for individuals.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
