Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 40 weeks per year plus 6 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

Behaviour & Pastoral Assistant Vacancy

•         22.5 hours per week – Term time only – working hours 5 mornings per week, 8:45am to 1:15pm

•         Salary - Single Status Spine 5 - Salary range from SS Point 12 or 13 depending on appointment.

We are looking to recruit a Behaviour & Pastoral Assistant to work as part of our existing support staff team.  

We are looking for the right person who will be able to:

•         Support key children with pastoral, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

•         Form good relationships with families and offer a positive role model in order that the children successfully integrate into school each morning.

•         Work with class teachers in order that key children are able to settle to their learning each morning.

•         Work with the SENDCO and SLT in order to put in place strategies and interventions to support children with their emotional, social and behavioural needs.

•         Model a positive attitude to the children, demonstrating a good understanding of the wide range of primary school age behavioural needs. 

This post includes MDSA and play duties.

We are looking for someone with:

•         Excellent communication skills with both children and adults.

•         The ability to be flexible and to use their own initiative.

•         Proficiency in basic Maths and English skills.

•         The ability to use ICT effectively.

•         A love of learning.

•         A good understanding of primary school age behavioural needs. 

•         A relevant Level 3 qualification and/or previous experience of working with primary aged children is highly desirable.
