Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.85 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

TEACHING ASSISTANT (TA3) & MDSA
Start Date: January 2023 (negotiable)
Hours: 20 hours per week (Mon- Fri) Term Time Only
9am–12pm: Teaching Assistant TA3 (Single Status Grade 4)
12pm–1pm: MDSA (Single Status Grade 1)
Mark Cross CA Primary is a small, welcoming village primary school with a ‘family feel’ approximately five miles south of Tunbridge Wells. We are part of the Weald Federation of Schools along with Frant, Mayfield and Five Ashes Primary Schools. Our schools work closely together to enhance the experiences of our pupils and offer staff a wide variety of CPD and career progression opportunities.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our school team. A good level of literacy and numeracy is essential. Previous experience of working in school or with children is preferred, appropriate training will be provided.
The role will initially be in our Year 5/6 class and will include working with individuals or groups to support teaching and learning under the direction of the classroom teacher. Alongside this contract, we also require a lunch time duty to be worked (under a separate MDSA contract) between 12-1pm.
The successful candidate will:
• Be patient, calm and truly listen to and value children’s views.
• Demonstrate versatility and an ability to use initiative.
• Be able to maintain confidentiality.
• Have good basic literacy and numeracy skills (to GCSE level or above).
• Have a strong commitment to supporting children’s learning and emotional well-being.
• Be able to communicate effectively with children and colleagues.
The TA3 role will be paid at Single Status Grade 4 (£21,189 - £21,575).
The MDSA role will be paid at Single Status Grade 1 (£20,258 pro rata)
