We are looking for an organised and dynamic individual to join the busy Orbis Insurance team.

The role on offer is a part-time post (18.5 hours per week) with flexibility over working patterns, but with no evening or weekend working.

Employed by East Sussex, you will be part of a team who provide a highly regarded, professional service to East Sussex County Council, Surrey County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council.

Your role will include non-liability claims handling (including property, motor, computer, and travel claims), underwriting, policy management and offering professional insurance and risk related advice to all council Departments and Schools.

You will need to be self-motived and an excellent team player, with the ability to work on your own initiative and with practical experience of working in the insurance industry, or an insurance related role within a Public Sector environment.

You should be well organised and a good communicator who is comfortable providing advice and guidance to a wide variety of staff at all levels, external service providers such as insurance companies, loss adjusters, insurance brokers, property surveyors, as well as members of the public.

This can be a time pressured role, with deadlines relating to claims management, policy renewals and tendering exercises, and therefore you need to be both methodical and flexible in order to successfully manage multiple work streams.

You should have good working knowledge of MS Office and be prepared to quickly learn the council’s claims handling system, Lachs.

East Sussex is a great environment in which to work. Although based in Lewes and Brighton, we recognise that COVID-19 has changed our perceptions of how the workplace will operate in the future. We offer a flexible approach to working with a hybrid of office and home working.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to work in a fast paced, varied, and dynamic environment, so if you are looking for a role where you will be challenged, please apply today.
