Are you a Senior Leader/Deputy Head with ambition?  If so, we need you!

This is a wonderful opportunity for a creative and imaginative person to lead our remarkable school as its headteacher.

St Mark’s is a ‘Good’ village primary school, a centre of innovation and totally committed to working in partnership with other local schools.

Our children are enthusiastic and love learning.  Ours is a supportive, friendly environment, with staff and governors dedicated to professionalism, and with an unshakeable commitment to improvement. The school actively promotes the personal development and well-being of both pupils and staff.  We are a voluntary aided Church of England school with a Christian ethos, firmly embedded and respected within our community.

We consistently aim to be outward-looking and to explore the possibilities offered by new initiatives and opportunities, to enrich the children’s education. We are looking for someone with the energy, imagination and leadership qualities to make use of opportunities as they arise in this unique school: someone who will relish the challenges of leading the school as it expands and consolidating its role in local alliances and school-to-school support. The successful candidate will have the backing of an enthusiastic staff team, proactive parents and supportive governing body.

The successful candidate must be:

  • A proven Senior Leader/Deputy Head with an exemplary record in school improvement & attainment.
  • Someone who already demonstrates a commitment to school-to-school support.
  • Someone with an enlightened understanding of the developments and opportunities presented by the evolving landscape of education, and willing to explore partnership working.
  • Someone who has a natural rapport with, and understanding of, children.

We are able to offer an exceptional mentoring package, which will provide high quality professional development for the successful candidate and will put them in a strong position to further their career.
We believe we are a very special school and invite you to come and see for yourself.  To arrange a visit, call the school’s office on 01825 830375.
