This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.  

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.

Midday Supervisory Assistants (MDSAs) – Required to start in our Primary School October 2022 – Hailsham Community College Academy Trust

  • Hours: 6.25 hours per week – Term Time – Monday to Friday 12:00pm - 13:15pm
  • Salary: Single Status Grade 1 point 2 - £18,333 – actual starting salary: £2,659 per annum
  • Contract: Fixed Term for 1 year initially

We are looking for friendly and confident individuals with good listening and communication skills to join our team. The role involves supervising children during the lunch break, both inside and outside, whilst they eat and play. 

The successful candidates will understand the needs of primary age children. They will be able to assist and encourage children to eat healthily and with good manners and will be able to encourage positive play among children whilst also understanding the importance of a safe play environment. Previous experience working with children would be advantageous.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
