Hours of work: 160 hours per annum
Working pattern: Part-time (working for 52 weeks per year plus 0 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations. 

 

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted. 

Clerk to Governors

Single Status Pay Scale Grade 7, point 18-19

Hours: 160 clerking hours, including 10 hours training per annum.

Salary: Single Status 7 (point 18 – 19; £22,299 - £22,944) pro rata per annum.

The Governing Board of St Peter and St Paul CE VA Primary School is looking for a Clerk. The successful candidate will:

•         be someone who is reliable, confident, good with people, and with an interest in school governance

•         have skills in good administrative practice and experience of minute taking

•         be confident in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and email and have access to the internet.

Responsibilities will include:

•         working effectively with the chair of governors, head teacher and other governors to secure the continuity of Governing Board business.

•         advising on procedural and legislative matters to ensure the Governing Board works to the legal framework.

•         an understanding of confidentiality; this is essential for this role. 

Tasks include:

•         the preparation and circulation of papers, attendance at meetings and minute taking

•         maintaining a business calendar including policy reviews

 

It is recommended that applicants either hold a relevant award (BTEC level 3 in Clerk to the Governing Board or equivalent) or are prepared to work towards the East Sussex Clerk to Governors Accreditation Scheme.
