Teaching Assistant

Hours of work: 27.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.85 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
(As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)
Fixed term for: 11 months

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. 

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations. 

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted. 

TWO Teaching Assistants


Starting September 2022 until July 2023

SINGLE STATUS GRADE 3 £18,887 (pro-rata)


Westfield is a popular one-form entry village school, set in the countryside just outside of Hastings.  We believe our role, as educators, is to prepare children to be successful in life.  We aim to create well-rounded, self-motivated individuals who are healthy, confident, happy and achieve the best they can.  We are a good school and we want a TA who can inspire our children, as well as work creatively alongside the class teacher to provide an innovative and engaging curriculum that enables everyone to achieve their goals.  

We need a TA who:

•         is passionate and nurturing, who can be flexible in their approach to this varied and busy role.

•         has a positive attitude and a love of learning

•         can help and encourage children with their learning

•         has a strong understanding of the principles of child development and learning processes

•         can work with targeted groups and individuals in adult led and child initiated activities contributing to observations and assessments

•         KS2 experience preferred

You will also be expected to undertake basic First Aid and/or Paediatric First Aid training if you do not currently have that qualification.
