This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.  

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.

The role:

Working in collaboration with other professionals you will assess, support and work with individuals and small groups of identified vulnerable pupils, to improve behaviour, motivation, self esteem and educational attainment. 

To be successful you will have:

  • English and Maths GCSE (grade A-C or equivalent)
  • Experience of establishing positive relationships with young children and the ability to empathise with their needs
  • A patient, resourceful, enthusiastic and flexible approach, with the ability to 'think on your feet'
  • You will have experience of working with/caring for young children, have your own children, or have worked with young children in a voluntary capacity
  • A strong commitment to supporting children's learning

About Hollington Primary Academy - Ofsted grade: Good (2017)

Hollington Primary Academy is a school for 4 to 11- year olds in St Leonards on Sea,  East Sussex. We serve our local community and encourage our pupils to think big. We have two classes in each year group and use our creative curriculum to bring learning to life. We have an excellent sports provision and hold the Gold School Games award. Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
