Hours of work: 37 hours per week 
Working pattern: Full-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.85 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
(As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)

Individual Needs Assistant

Stonegate CEP School is located in a beautiful part of the High Weald. We are a popular school with an excellent local reputation and pride ourselves on our commitment to the arts, the outdoors and the acquisition of life long skills.  

The Headteacher and Governors are looking for an extraordinary person to join our teaching support team.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Individual Needs Assistant (37.00 hours per week) to work in our Reception Class.

The role will include working 1-1 and with small groups of children. The working times will be 5 whole days per week starting in September 2022 (we would consider this role on a job share basis).

The successful applicant will:-

•         Support the pupils learning, physical, social, emotional and communication needs within the classroom and during social activities.

•         Have a good knowledge and experience of the needs of children with Special Educational Needs such as ASC, Speech, Language and Communication difficulties and cognition and learning.

•         Be prepared to provide a high level of care throughout the school day, including toileting.

•         Be able to work collaboratively as part of our team and with other professionals to maximise the pupils’ development and communication skills and deliver programmes to support the children’s needs.

•         Be resilient and able to work independently, flexibly and use their own initiative to respond to the children’s needs

•         Be committed to inclusion and have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs.
