Teaching Assistant

Hours of work: 25 per week
Working pattern: Part-time and Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 7 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
(As the position is part-time and term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)

Burwash CE Primary is a small rural primary school situated in the village of Burwash.

We are excited to be looking to appoint a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor to join the staff team in September 2022.

TA3 hours: Monday to Friday 8.45am-12.00 and 1.40pm - 3.30pm term time only 
Single Status Grade 4 point 9-10 : £19,264-£19,650 pro rata
MDSA hours: Monday to Friday 12.00 - 1.10pm term time only (5.83 hours)
Single Status Grade 1 point 2 : £18,333 pa pro rata

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant and MDSA who:
- Is able to work from 8.45am until 3.30pm from Monday to Friday.
- Will support the learning of individual pupils and small groups with a varying range of learning needs and abilities.
- Will establish and maintain effective relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Is an excellent role-model for behaviour and has an exemplary work ethic.
- Will assist colleagues with the preparation of learning and classroom resources.
- Will promote the positive behaviour of all pupils in the classroom and on the playground, and when and where appropriate, use strategies to manage behaviour effectively.
- Will be committed to providing a safe learning environment for all pupils, built on mutual respect.
- Has an understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding
- Will promote the acceptance and inclusion of pupils with SEND, encouraging pupils to interact with each other in an appropriate and acceptable manner.
- Will provide feedback on the pupils’ learning and behaviour to the teacher/SENCO, including feedback on the effectiveness of the behaviour strategies adopted.
- Is able to deliver whole class lessons and activities if required for up to 30% of employed time 
- Will undertake break-time and lunch-time duties.
- Will run individual or intervention groups for pupils if required.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
