The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.  

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

College Central, a ‘Good’ alternative provision, provides specialised education to young people with who have been, or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school, across two locations within East Sussex - Eastbourne and Hastings. College Central - Eastbourne are seeking to recruit a Receptionist into our innovative and dynamic team, to manage the smooth running of the reception area. 

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, efficient, flexible, friendly and reliable. They will need to have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a good telephone manner and be able to deal sensitively with a range of children, parents and outside agencies. They will need to be highly organised, have excellent IT and strong administrative skills. Previous school office experience using SIMS.net would be strong advantage but not essential.

Other necessary qualities include confidentiality, efficiency and being able to work using your own initiative and under pressure, and a willingness to contribute to the continued improvement of the school.

The working pattern will be Monday to Friday (08:15/08:30am to 14:45/15:00pm), with working hours to be discussed at interview and agreed on successful appointment.
