School Business Manager

£40,408 to £44,157 a year


Required from 1 November 2022

Priory is a very successful school with an excellent reputation. The school is consistently oversubscribed yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake. 

The Governors of this successful school seek to appoint a Business Manager from 1 November 2022 on a full-time, permanent basis to provide professional leadership and management of the support services of Priory School.  

We are looking for a highly motivated leader with an excellent record to join a strong Senior Leadership team.  To ensure the most effective use of resources in support of the School’s learning objectives and to promote the highest standards of business in the ethos of the administrative function of the School.

It is essential that candidates hold or are working towards QCF level 4 or above, Diploma in School Business Management or equivalent.

The key responsibilities include:

• Member of the leadership team, supporting the development and implementation of the school strategy.

• Line Management of Office, HR, Health and Safety, IT and Site Staff and delivery of the administrative support function within the school.

• Financial planning of school budget. Advise on investment and financial policy, preparing appraisals for projects and for the development of a business plan (long term financial strategy).

• Attend and support the Governors at committee and sub-committee meetings

• Procurement and contract monitory against key performance Indicators.

• Advice on HR matters, including local application of legal or policy changes.

• Facilities management of the school and undertaking risk assessments.

• Contract management and organisation of lettings.

• Marketing the school.


The salary grade is LMG1, scale point 5-8, £40,408 to £44,157 a year.
