Course description Is this course for you? You are familiar with creating simple Pivot Tables from Excel data. You want to find ways of quickly cleaning up and merging data for use in a Pivot Table, or you have data in several different tables which you want to analyse in one Pivot Table. This course includes topics from the Excel Advanced course.
Training objectives At the end of the course, you will:
  • understand the Excel data model. You will be able to import data into Power Query and use tools to clean it up before saving the data in the Data Model.
  • be able to refresh your query when the data changes, and know how to create relationships between data tables, so you can build a Pivot Table using fields from multiple tables.

Course description This short course gives a general introduction on using our content management system (CMS) Umbraco to update East Sussex County Council's external, public-facing website for residents and businesses: www.eastsussex.gov.uk It also covers some features on the staff intranet. You will also have to complete the Writing for the Web Training
Training objectives This course is for staff with responsibility for content on the ESCC corporate Website or intranet. You will become a web author for your department. The course itself focuses on the ESCC website, but the same system and templates are used for the intranet. It covers:
  • difference between public website and back office
  • edit existing content in a ‘topic’ page
  • create a new ‘task’ page
  • add a document and link to it
  • add links to other pages and websites
  • how to add ‘latest’ news and social media to a page
Learning outcomes By the end of this course, you will be able to:
  • understand the key difference between public and back-office sites
  • understand the basic structure of the public facing site
  • edit existing content
  • create new pages using at least 3 templates
  • replace documents currently on the site
  • amend & add metadata & page properties
