Elevating early years leadership by increasing mental health literacy
We are delighted to offer three online workshops delivered by Kate Moxley on championing the health and wellbeing of the early years workforce. Kate is a bestselling author, Mental Health First Aid England instructor and founder of Early Years Wellbeing Week, and has an excellent understanding of the long-term challenges that continue to underlie the landscape of the sector. Line managers have the potential to make the biggest difference to mental health in the workplace, but few have had formal training, or know what to say or how to say it when they are concerned about a colleague or when someone discloses something. Elevating early years leadership by increasing mental health literacy ensures that line managers have the necessary skills to prevent health issues from developing or worsening, and the knowledge to protect, promote and maintain wellbeing for themselves and their people.
The cost of this training is estimated at £60pp however we are offering it free of charge in recognition of any backfill costs you may incur. Due to the high demand we anticipate for this training it is necessary for us to charge a non-attendance fee of £35 to avoid places being booked and not filled.
This training is for managers and leaders of early years group settings (nurseries and pre-schools). Childminders have the opportunity to attend a childminder only conference where Kate Moxley will deliver two keynote speeches bespoke to childminder settings. This conference is on Saturday 16th March 2024 and can be booked on through the Learning Portal - course code EYFS299.
Training objectives
By the end of this training, you will:
- Recognise the benefits of promoting and protecting positive mental wellbeing at work.
- Be alert to early warning signs of poor mental health in your team members.
- Initiate wellbeing conversations with your team.
- Use active listening skills to start effective conversations about mental health.
- Promote help-seeking through workspace support and pathways of trusted sources of information and support.
- Feel more confident when supporting your team members.
- Improve your own mental wellbeing, professional self-care and boundaries.
