End of life care

Project Echo
Update Closure of project Echo. Sussex Hospices Collaboration have decided not to proceed with  Project ECHO on a permanent basis after the pilot ends. This means Project ECHO is closing. The last ECHO session for Six Steps is 29th June 2023.  Please note all Care home staff and Care Home Matrons registered to Project ECHO will have access to Moodle where all the recorded videos from ECHO sessions, presentations and resources are stored, until 1 February 2024.

Telecare service training

Course description To inform Adult Social Care operational staff of the benefits and options related to Telecare service provision. This course focusses on available equipment, not prescribing. Focus will also be given to the importance of identifying clients at risk of accidental fires and how they can be best supported via the addition of linked smoke alarms. No prior knowledge is needed; this course is suitable for new and existing staff that need a refresher.
Training objectives Training will be delivered by Careium and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service
Learning outcomes
  • Increased understanding of the telecare offer in East Sussex
  • Detailed knowledge of the equipment available and when it should be prescribed
Knowledge of fire risks and how telecare equipment can help to mitigate these risks.
Additional information It is not a requirement of this course to be a telecare prescriber however, if you are not already a prescriber, your manager will need to raise a request via the IT&D hub before you are able to order equipment.
