Hailsham Town Centre Improvement scheme

We have been making a number of improvements to Hailsham Town Centre as part of our commitment to ensure that Hailsham remains a thriving, vibrant and attractive market town.

These improvements will support the economic vitality of the town, improve traffic flow and create an improved environment for pedestrians, the mobility impaired and cyclists.

A transport improvement scheme has been developed by East Sussex County Council in partnership with Wealden District Council, Hailsham Town Council and Hellingly Parish Council. A Steering Group made up of officers and Councillors from all four partners has been set up to take the plans forward.

The scheme is totally funded by development contributions, from recent housing developments in Hailsham and Hellingly. This money is given to help minimise the impact of more housing on the transport network.

You can find out more details about the works being carried out in Hailsham on the East Sussex Highways website and the latest updates in our news and events section.
