New SEMH School

Applications to create a new special school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs are now open.

East Sussex County Council has identified the need for a new special school for pupils with SEMH and linked needs, like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The school will provide 80 places across primary and secondary stages and be located on land off Reef Way in Hailsham (BN27 1FB).

The new school will be a free school and we welcome applications from interested sponsors.

See the new school specification, application form and criteria below.

The closing date for applications is noon on 12 November 2018

The Council will first assess the applications. Then the Regional Schools Commissioner, on behalf of the Secretary of State, will decide which proposer is in the best position to establish the new school.

Please note the specification has been updated as of 20 September 2018. Please ensure you use the latest version.
