Citizenship ceremonies held between Thursday 5 November and Wednesday 2 December will be online via Microsoft Teams.

If your ceremony is booked to take place during this time, we will contact you to re-arrange.

Becoming a UK citizen

Changing nationality is a major turning point in someone’s life. To acknowledge this, people who are granted UK citizenship are required to attend a formal citizenship ceremony.

In order to obtain your citizenship, there is a legal requirement for you to make your oath of allegiance in person at a citizenship ceremony.

Applications for UK citizenship are handled by the Home Office. The final part of the process is the citizenship ceremony.

In line with Government guidelines, face coverings must be worn by all visitors to our Register Offices. You may be asked to temporarily remove your face covering for identification purposes.
